Museum of Northern Arizona – Navajo Festival of Arts & Culture / Twin Arrows Cultural Tours

Meet & Greet with Fashion Models – Big Water Designs,  Bonnie Woodie

Friday, August 1 – Rotunda Area 6:00pm – 7:00pm

 

The fashion show during the Festival will feature Navajo designer Bonnie Woodie, whose clothing collection will be enhanced by Native American jewelry hand picked by Museum Shop experts. Woodie will present her Native-inspired fashions known for their clean designs, quality construction and beautiful beadwork.
Her work infuses the traditional and colorful landscapes of the Diné Nation into modern fashion. Woodie was the first Native American to show her line in Milano, Italy.

 

Twin Arrows Culture Tour with Geri Hongeva

Saturday, August 2  6:00pm

Sunday, August 3    6:00pm

Each tour will begin with a 15 minute dance performance  Featuring the DinehTah Navajo Dancers

As performing ambassadors to the Great Navajo Nation, the DinehTah Navajo Dancers, under the direction of Shawn Price, are considered an outstanding group of young, talented, and disciplined individuals who continue to excel their cultural program having received many accolades; their unique program offers the finest in traditional and semi-contemporary performances. They have performed at many distinguished events and premiere venues throughout the country.

Maintaining their deep connection to the religious aspects of their culture is of the utmost importance in their program.

Many people have experienced the beauty and rich spiritual traditions of the Navajo people through the group’s performances.
